GETTING GOVERNMENT GRANTS.
With a USC Education Savings Plan, the process of getting government grants is very straightforward.
- You obtain a Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) for your child.
- You complete the grant application form available from your USCI Sales Representative or online.
- USCI applies for grants on your behalf.
- Grants are deposited directly into your USC Plan.
- Grants are paid to your child for post-secondary studies as part of their Education Assistance Payments.
If your child does not pursue post-secondary education, grants are returned to the government. Income earned on the government grants, however, may be issued to the plan subscriber or transferred to their RRSP*.
For full details about government grants, you can read our Prospectus (Select Final Long Form Prospectus English) or have a USCI Sales Representative call you.
